Travel with confidence during the epidemic

The outbreak COVID-19 is impacting Deloitte's clients, professionals, and the communities in which we live and serve. To help, we put together a collection of resources to inform our community and assist with preparing and responding to the risks associated with this global health crisis. #ImpactThatMatters

The COVID-19 epidemic has caught the world's attention and affected everyone's lives and journeys. On 31 January, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak to be a public health emergency of international concern. Countries across the world have gone on the alert and issued travel restrictions. Based on data posted by the National Immigration Administration, on 27 January, North Korea and Equatorial Guinea were the first jurisdictions to adopt entry control measures. As of 7:00AM on 24 February, a total of 137 countries and regions have issued entry control measures.

With the gradual control of the epidemic, the resumption of work for enterprises has also accelerated. For organizations with a high travel needs, especially to international destinations, assessing the impact of the epidemic on travel is a necessary part of the resumption process.

With this in mind, and to help enterprises and employees plan travel in advance, Deloitte has designed a Travel Risk eMap (please find below link and QR Code). By using advanced data capture technology to collect and summarize the latest news from authoritative websites, this visual map can help you quickly understand global trends and the latest travel restrictions in destinations around the world.

By simply clicking or search a country on the map, users can find out below information:

  • The number of people who have been diagnosed as infected by COVID-19;
  • The type of travel restrictions in place: fully or partial;
  • Details of the controls, including time limits, visa restrictions and flight information.

At the same time, you can also find links to relevant articles and audio classes launched by Deloitte to help enterprises mitigate management risk during the epidemic.

If you or your employees plan to travel soon, please utilize the Deloitte Travel Risk eMap to better understand country entry restrictions, reduce your travel risk, and plan your trip effectively.
