A shoutout to all foreign employees coping with COVID-19 restrictions in Russia

Webinar, 23 April 2020

If several months ago we had been told that all airports around the world would stop operations at once, countries would close their borders at a short notice, and the most vibrant and dynamic social and business hubs would be silent and empty, definitely, we would not have believed it.

However, this is where we are now, learning how to live in this new reality. We all struggle to get used to the lockdown measures, adapt to the new rules and restrictions. It is times harder and more frustrating to be a foreign national, having to stay far away from your home country or unable to return to Russia to work due to the travel bans.

If you find it difficult to get your bearings amid the new rules and restrictions, our team is here to help. Deloitte Moscow Global Employer Services team invites assignees and expat coordinators to our webinar to talk about immigration and personal income tax compliance and discuss your concerns and worries.

We put together an agenda of the most pressing immigration- and tax-related issues. Though, there is still a room for further clarifications from the Government and state authorities on certain peculiarities, we will share with you some insights, good-to-know triggers and recommendations, as well as highlight the most important specifics and updates to remember.

What is high on our agenda:

·       Work permit/visa expiring soon: a reason to worry about?

·       The endless story of immigration registration: how to prolong it during the lockdown and what to do if you are staying at a different address?

·       A road-map for Russian work permit/visa holders who cannot return from abroad due to travel restrictions.

·       Russian 2019 tax returns: filing extension.

·       Technical implications: preparation and filing of Russian tax returns during the lockdown.

Impact of global counter-pandemic measures on residency and personal income taxation.

The event will be conducted in English.

Participation is free of charge.

Date: 23 April 2020

Time: 10 am – 11 am
