Deloitte Digital named a leader in Internet of Things (IoT) Consulting IT by ALM Intelligence and an IoT Service Provider aligned with IoT Practice Leader Characteristics by Gartner
New York, NY, 26 February 2016– Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL) is pleased to announce recognition for Deloitte Digital’s Internet of Things (IoT) practice from leading technology research and advisory companies. ALM Intelligence has named Deloitte Digital a leader in their Internet of Things IT Consulting 2015 report. Gartner has named Deloitte Digital an IoT service provider aligned with IoT practice leader characteristics in their December 2015 report entitled Competitive Landscape: Service Providers Seek to Capitalize on the First Wave of IoT Transformation.
“By combining Deloitte Digital’s deep industry knowledge, creative power, and a robust ecosystem of partners into a dedicated IoT practice, we’re in a unique position to help businesses identify the value of IoT and capture it quickly,” said Andy Daecher, Deloitte Digital US Chief IoT Officer. “The recognition of our IoT services by ALM and Gartner is validation of the effort we’ve made to take clients from ‘what do I do’ to ‘how do I do it,’ and ultimately to harnessing the power of IoT.”
Deloitte Digital, a component of Deloitte member firm consulting practices, has pioneered a new model for a new age – the creative digital consultancy. Deloitte Digital combines leading digital and creative capabilities with the deep industry knowledge, innovative thinking, business transformation, organizational change, domain and versatile technology experience Deloitte member firms are known for.
In their report, Gartner notes that “Internet of Things-related services include a broad range of offerings, such as business strategy, solution design, infrastructure, device management and analytics,” and also states, “In 2020, 6.6 billion "things" will ship, with about two-thirds of them for consumer applications. IoT services continue to accelerate, which will result in $411 billion end-user spending in 2020."
ALM Intelligence assessed organizations based on their relative breadth and depth of IoT IT consulting capabilities, and recognizes that “Deloitte’s commitment to developing a greater understanding of IoT and the role it can play for both clients and non-clients, coupled with its deep expertise across IoT capabilities secures the firm’s position in the Vanguard.”
As used in this press release, “Deloitte Digital” refers only to the DTTL member firms’ digital practices.
