The story of our Impact Day

A special day for special impact

Impact Day is a celebration of Deloitte’s commitment to local communities – an opportunity for our people to put their passion, determination and skills to use for the common good.

This year, 151 of our colleagues at Consulting Sweden spent their Impact Day solving what amounted to 28 challenges for 10 non-profit organisations. Activities ranged from formulating social media strategies and mapping IT landscapes to an activity day for children.

“During Impact Day, we use our professional expertise to help organisations accomplish something they usually don’t have the time or resources for”, says Sandra Sohlberg, a consultant within Deloitte Sweden and co-project-leader of this year’s Consulting Impact Day. “It’s only one day, but the benefits are seen way into the future.”

“We collaborate with organisations that align with Deloitte’s values”, continues fellow organiser Kim Gutestam. “Before Impact Day takes place, we support in identifying the main challenges for the selected organisations and together with them define a scope for each challenge/project that ensures we will deliver something valuable by the end of the day. After Impact Day, we follow up with each organisation to make sure we managed to fulfil their expectations.”

“This is the third year Consulting Sweden performs Impact Day”, concludes Josefine Finsbäck, the third co-project-leader. “It’s something we find just as rewarding as the organisations taking part of the day. We help a lot of dedicated organisations and we, in turn, get to see the world from another perspective and do something different from our normal client work.”

Deloitte Sweden’s 2018 Impact Day was designed to support Deloitte’s wider World Class programme – a global initiative that empowers people to succeed in a rapidly changing world. World Class aligns Deloitte’s myriad local community efforts around one single shared ambition: to use our 250,000 people around the world to create opportunities for others, through education, skills development and access to opportunity. The aim is to improve the futures of 50 million young people globally.
