This session will begin with an overview of wealth accumulation in SEA and the demands and requirements of Asian families; including generational transfers and the impact on investment. The tax considerations relevant to financial and wealth planning for Southeast Asian families will be discussed as will planning strategies that might be considered. The session will finish with an introduction to the incentives to encourage the establishment of family offices in Singapore.
This session will begin with an update of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations initiatives to facilitate the development of Investment Management in the region. From there, the focus of the session will be recent tax developments relevant to the structuring of SEA invested and/or focused funds (across all asset classes, including venture capital, and crypto funds), including the experience to date of the Singapore Variable Capital Company.
