Hawker for the day at Dignity Kitchen to serve the elderly
Singapore, 3 August 2018 — Deloitte partners and employees joined the ranks of hawker chefs at Dignity Kitchen today – rolling up their sleeves, firing up the wok and whipping up delectable local delights for the elderly residents from Tung Ling Elder Care (Dakota Crescent).
Under the guidance of experienced trainers, Deloitte employees learnt to appreciate the challenges of people with disabilities and the disadvantaged who earn a living as a food stall operator.
These efforts marked Deloitte Singapore’s seventh Impact Day, an annual celebration of our commitment to giving back to society. More than 800 Deloitte Singapore employees participated in various volunteer programmes that involved beneficiaries from the Alzheimer’s Disease Association, AWWA, Metta Welfare Association, NorthLight School, Singapore Red Cross and Small Change Lasting Impact on 3 August.
Deloitte’s Impact Day is aligned to our network-wide initiative – WorldClass, where we commit to prepare fifty million futures for a world of opportunity. We are inspiring to increase our commitment and investment in education, skills development, and access to opportunity.
