The 2016 SMSF Association National Conference
The future of SMSF Audit
On Wednesday, 17th February to Friday, 19th February 2016, the Deloitte SMSF Audit team will be at the most influential SMSF conference in Australia – the SMSF Association National Conference at the Adelaide Conference Centre.
At the SMSF Association National Conference there will be the opportunity to receive one on one access to technical expertise, earn CPD points and hear from the brightest minds in the SMSF and Superannuation sector including:
Ian Harper (Partner, Deloitte Access Economics) is one of Australia’s best known economists. In 2014 he was appointed to chair the Abbott Government’s Competition Policy Review, a “root and branch” review of Australia’s competition policy, laws and regulators. Ian is often asked to comment on economic and financial issues in the media and is sought after as a public speaker.
At the SMSF Association National Conference, Ian Harper will present the key recommendations of the Review along with the Government's response. He will discuss the potential impact of the changes on Australia's productivity growth and future living standards.
Peter Williams (Chief Edge Officer, Centre for the Edge, Deloitte) is a recognised thought leader and practitioner in innovation with a particular focus on digital innovation. He founded Deloitte Digital, a business pioneering the delivery of professional services online, and has been the Chairman of Deloitte’s Innovation Council since 2004.
A number of years ago Pete Williams called out the Australian SMSF system as a disruptive innovation. This year, he will provide an overview of what Disruptive Innovation is and why the sector fits the definition. Pete Williams will also provide thoughts on:
- How both platforms and fragmentation provide the sector with an advantage over other players
- Ideas on where there are opportunities for further innovation with a focus on digital and customer experience
- Some guidelines and tools for maintaining pace in a rapidly changing world
