2017 Market Size
In collaboration with Deloitte and ETİD, TÜBİSAD publishes the fifth installment of the “E-Commerce in Turkey” report analyzing quantitative data such as number of website visits, conversion rates, average basket sizes and sales numbers, as well as qualitative data driven by the interviews made with sector representatives.
According to the report, the sector grew by 37% reaching to a total size of 42.2 billion TL in 2017. The fastest growing sub-sector waw travel and leisure, recovering from its decline in the previous year.
23 billion TL of the e-commerce sector came from online retail transactions. Share of online retail in overall retail spend was 4.1% in 2017 which is low compared to the average ratio in developing and developed countries, with 4.8% and 9.8%, respectively – signaling a continued potential for growth of the sector in Turkey.
