Fortunatus Kibiki

Fortunatus Kibiki is the Country Managing Partner at Deloitte Tanzania and Partner in the Audit & Assurance function. He brings over 18 years of diverse experience serving clients across East Africa. His expertise spans industries, from telecommunications and manufacturing to complex, multi-country entities.

Starting at Deloitte in 2006, Fortunatus built his foundation in various sectors before a two-year secondment to the Houston office in United States. There, he honed his skills in oil and gas audits for major international companies, listed on the New York Stock Exchange. During this time, he also developed a passion for pension schemes, later becoming a niche specialist upon his return to Tanzania.

Fortunatus has been a key contact for the National Audit Office, tackling challenging assignments in the financial services industry, including national housing, pension funds, and health insurance. He has also played a pivotal role in drafting crucial regulatory documents related to unclaimed assets and financial regulations.

Beyond his client work, Fortunatus is a dedicated trainer. He has facilitated training at both the National Board of Auditors and Accountants (NBAA) and internal Deloitte regional sessions on topics such as integrated reporting and ESG. He actively mentors upcoming accountants within the NBAA and Deloitte communities, with a particular focus on supporting women in the accounting, audit, and tax fields.

Fortunatus is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), registered tax consultant and member of The National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA). He is also a proud University of Dar es Salaam alumni holding a Bachelors of Commerce in Accounting.

Fortunatus is also a multifaceted individual. He is an avid reader of philosophy, psychology, and history and likes to keep abreast on global current affairs, politics, and business. He finds joy in classic literature, particularly medieval works.

Fortunatus is deeply committed to social impact beyond Deloitte. He actively contributes to various committees focusing on health, education, and girl child empowerment. He finds fulfillment in supporting health centers, sanitation projects, orphanages, and local community initiatives. His passion for sustainability resonates with SDGs 3, 4, and 13, driving his interest in forests, farms, carbon credits, and overall environmental well-being.

Born, raised, educated, and working in Tanzania, Fortunatus embodies national pride. He cherishes the country's rich culture, particularly its tolerance for diverse views, languages, and beliefs. He sees integrity, resilience, and respect for cultural values as defining traits of Tanzania.
