Alexios Kamizoulis: Working abroad in Cyber

Alexios is sharing his story of working in Copenhagen for 10 months and working flexibly throughout the weeks to fit his active lifestyle. Continue reading to get to know what a career in Cyber with us looks like.

I was approached to join the firm due to the skills and experience I had from my previous role in industry - It’s been a fantastic move. I’m now a Manager within Cyber Transform, where I’m responsible for making recommendations to clients on how to best minimise their cyber risk exposure and improve their cyber capabilities. I enjoy discovering potential problems for clients, and then finding the best solutions for them. I’m a problem solver at heart, so it keeps me motivated to constantly find new questions to answer.

The role presents challenges that I thrive on, but as I’m only human, my personal life and wellbeing is also important to me. There is a big push for work-life balance within Deloitte. If I’m not on a client site, I tend to work from home on Fridays. It allows me to mix things up a bit too. Outside of work I try to be active and play different sports, socialise with friends, and try new exciting experiences.

My most memorable moment is the time I was told I would be spending my next 10 months in Copenhagen, Denmark for a high-visibility Cyber project. I’ve always wanted to spend time working abroad so this was an exciting and rewarding prospect for me.
