Aoife - The search for delicious

Foodie Aoife tells us how far she’ll go to deliver incredible answers for her clients – or to find her new favourite food.

How did you join Deloitte?

I joined Deloitte as an experienced hire in 2016. Deloitte part-owned the company I previously worked in. Through working with Deloitte colleagues there, I became interested to join the firm.

What are you responsible for in your role?

I lead teams working on large-scale technology projects using a blend of Agile and SCRUM methodologies, focusing on driving performance and creating a positive environment to work and develop in.

How are you supported to work flexibly?

I work on a government project which has a blend of both on and off site client work across five days each week. Mondays we’re based in the Buckley Building and on Fridays we have the option to either work from our local Deloitte office or from home. We work with both near and offshore teams too, different travel arrangements mean that we need to flex our work patterns. Essentially our focus is on getting the job done regardless of location or time zone!

What was your most memorable moment on the job so far?

Developing and releasing a mobile app for workers to capture and synchronise data in real time to client systems in 20 weeks. Using an ‘Off the Shelf’ approach we were able to configure the app to the specific needs of the workers providing a smooth user experience at a reduced cost to the client.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Food is life so I cook quite a bit and like to try out new places to eat. To balance all that food out I spin and practise yoga. I also love to travel and am off to Stockholm and Paris to explore their Christmas markets and sample all the deliciousness they have to offer!
