Julie Bendall‘s whirlwind Graduate journey

Julie’s journey into Technology Strategy and Architecture was a steep hill to climb. Her Analyst Induction Programme was intense but the learning opportunity has been completely invaluable. Let’s hear her story getting here.

When did you join Deloitte and what is your role within the company?

In September 2017 I joined the firm as an Analyst within Technology Strategy and Architecture.

What is your educational background?

In June 2017 I graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a Master’s degree in International Business and Modern Languages.

What made you pursue a career in your field and why did you apply to Deloitte?

Due to a number of internships within technology, I have always had a passion for all things tech related. However, not coming from a particularly tech educational background, I often worried I wouldn’t have the key skills required to pursue a career within technology. Fortunately, I heard about Deloitte’s Graduate Programme and I knew it was the perfect opportunity for me, particularly due to the training Deloitte provide to support your career.

What do you like best about working for Deloitte?

For me, what I love most about working at Deloitte is the immense variety of work. As well as having the opportunity to improve and expand my existing tech capability on a daily basis, I also have the chance to develop my interpersonal skills by working closely with key stakeholders and team members. There is never a dull day.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of I work I would say my biggest passion is food. I enjoy cooking and experimenting with new tastes and recipes but most of all…I really just enjoy eating! Unfortunately, due to my lack of coordination, I can’t claim to have any sporting interests but I do love sticking on my trainers and going for a long walk to explore new places.
