When did you join Deloitte?

I joined Deloitte in the summer of 2015 after finishing my degree – Accounting and Management at Durham University. Today, I work in Financial Services within Audit and Assurance.

What do you like best about working here?        

I enjoy working on a variety of jobs, from FTSE 250 clients to smaller more personal clients. I am currently managing a number of jobs within our office, which is both challenging and rewarding as this is allowing me to develop and expand my knowledge and skills. By taking on a more responsible role, I am able to develop better relationships with the client and the team within Deloitte. This is helping me to expand and develop my career further.

Finally, tell us about your journey with us.

Moving from full time education to studying and working at the same time has been a challenge however, Deloitte have been supportive in my studies to gain my professional qualification. I have been fortunate enough to work on a varied list of audit clients from a large residential property investor to smaller captive insurance clients. I’ve also worked on some advisory jobs.

The variety in my jobs has meant that I have been able to learn more about the different industries and develop a wide range of skills that I can take forward and apply to other jobs. By working on such a variety of clients, it has meant I have worked with nearly all members of the office, meaning I have gained a more varied experience working in different teams with different dynamics and personalities, enabling me to become adaptable to different situations.

Through my journey as a graduate I have taken full responsibility for managing various jobs, this has pushed me out of my comfort zone and I’ve gained confidence and leadership skills.
