Our Annual Report 2021: Growth for Yorkshire and the North East | Deloitte UK has been saved
We announced our annual results at the end of September to coincide with the launch of our Annual Report. In the Yorkshire and North East practice the results for the year ending 31st May 2021 was reported as 11.7% net revenue growth.
Our people are the stars of the show and the net revenue growth we’ve delivered in Yorkshire and the North East is down to their commitment and dedication - they have all worked tirelessly throughout this challenging period to provide the best support to our clients.
As a firm we have made significant changes to our working practices which have added to the resilience of the business. Going forward the firm will continue to be at the forefront of technological changes and evolution through acquisition. We have invested in our people in the region with 15 senior promotions; 129 new appointments and 65 graduates; and our new hybrid working model Deloitte Works, which gives our people the freedom and the trust to decide how work should work best for them, their team and our clients.
The firm has continued to invest in the practice with the launch of a new Northern hub for the Deloitte in-house creative agency, 368, which will create 50 new roles by the end of 2021. Another first for the practice is the Yorkshire Climate Action Coalition - a business-led group which aims, through collaboration, to help businesses define and accelerate their own pathways to NetZero, and at the same time help companies embrace the opportunities arising from the future green economy.
Our volunteering hasn’t been interrupted by COVID-19 – we’ve become more ingenious about our involvement in our 5 Million Futures social impact projects. We’ve been supporting Tong High School, Cardinal Hume Catholic School and our charities IntoUniversity and Changing Lives, remotely, helping students develop their soft skills and experience the world of work. Our 84 strong team of volunteers have supported both great causes by being mentors, providing workshops, pro-bono projects and fundraising.
I am proud to say that every one of us at Deloitte in Yorkshire and the North East is committed to the growth of the local economy, local business and the local community.
