How the Deloitte Social Innovation Pioneers programme works

The Super Pioneers receive a support package worth an estimated £1m over 12 months. The programme gives Super Pioneers access to a wide range of skills, experience, networks and opportunities from across Deloitte, delivered by a dedicated Relationship Management team. The programme is tailored to each organisation through a three-stage approach: Scope, Deliver and Impact.

Relationship team

Each Pioneer is assigned a designated relationship team to support their interaction with Deloitte over the lifetime of the programme. Pioneers value being treated like a Deloitte client.

“Through the diligence of the relationship director we have been exposed to a range of highly relevant opportunities. A ‘money-can't-buy’ level of exposure.” Andrew Purvis, CEO, K10

Knowledge sharing

We run four compulsory events a year which provide knowledge sharing in the form of bespoke one-to-one clinics with Deloitte subject matter experts as well as networking opportunities with each other, Deloitte staff and our clients.

"I also just wanted to say how incredibly useful I found the training session. Having come to it as someone with a big fear of public speaking, it increased my confidence and gave me the tools to start acting to do something about it."
Emily Dunning, Cambridge Hub Manager, Student Hubs

Pro Bono

Pioneer relationship teams work with the organisation to identify bespoke projects that will have a direct and tangible impact on their business. Projects range from operational review; financial modelling; customer analysis; to support in acquisition; branding, website development and growth strategy support.

“The strategy review of the business plan was incredibly useful and helped us attract £0.5m in soft loan finance. The tax advice has also been of great use and has informed our ongoing strategy”
Alex Cubitt, Managing Director, Emmaus Enterprises

Clients & networking

Across the programme we encourage interaction between Pioneers and our clients. Through regular updates, event invitations and through the Deloitte relationship teams our clients are updated on the programme.

"With Deloitte’s insight, expertise and connections, we can rapidly scale the breadth and depth of our impact”
Ben Allen, Founder and CEO, Oomph! Wellness Ltd

Supply chains & procurement

Where appropriate, we help Pioneers find and implement supply chain and procurement opportunities within Deloitte and our clients’ companies. These may be products or services being used in our offices and people being employed by us or our associates.

"You are changing our business in its entirety ... not just a small part of it. We therefore hugely value the relationship and the advice the programme brings.” Mark Shearer, Co-founder, Project Dirt

PR & promotion

Pioneers receive numerous PR opportunities through their engagement in the programme. This usually includes the promotion of their organisation and service or product through various press releases, insight pieces and social media.

"A member of the Deloitte PR team organised From Babies with Love to be part of an online panel for the Guardian Small Business Network. Through the event we made useful contacts with other panelists, as well as raised our profile with the Guardian and it's online readers." Cecilia Crossley, Co-founder, From Babies with Love

“This is not Corporate Social Responsibility; this is Deloitte doing what they do best - using their skills and expertise to be a catalyst for growth across this dynamic sector.” Peter Holbrook, CEO, SEUK
