Moving lives forward with Whizz-Kidz
Our pro bono work for Whizz-Kidz is aimed at helping transform the lives of disabled children
Whizz-Kidz’s vision is that all disabled children’s lives should be full of fun, friendship and hope for an independent future. Through the provision of equipment, support and life skills, Whizz-Kidz is transforming the lives of disabled children - giving them the chance to develop to their full potential.
Our people have dedicated over 550 pro-bono hours in FY16 to support Whizz-Kidz in achieving its vision. Our support has helped Whizz-Kidz to increase its scale and social impact by providing 10,000 new opportunities for disabled children over 2014-2017, including wheelchair skills and work placements, enabling the children to become more independent.
Initially, we used our project management knowledge and skills to assist Whizz-Kidz in delivering against its ambitious targets. Once on track, our focus shifted to the future, post-2017, where we helped Whizz-Kidz develop a longer-term sustainability strategy to ensure its future scalability is robust and that it can continue to grow as an organisation and deliver more impact on young people. We’ve learned a great deal from our pro-bono work; understanding the complexities of funding and the challenges charities face. We have also seen the benefit of applying our experience and knowledge of working with corporates to help Whizz-Kidz grow as an organisation.
Through this support, Whizz-Kidz has gained significant organisational learning, which has strengthened our foundations and the charity’s future sustainability.
