The Deloitte Academy Diversity on Boards Programmes

Deloitte offers two educational and networking programmes for senior women and BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) leaders with the ability and ambition to be considered for a Non-Executive Director position at a UK-listed company. The programmes build on the knowledge and experience of each participant and provide networking opportunities with peers, senior board members and city advisers.

The Deloitte Academy Women on Boards programme was introduced in 2011 following the Lord Davies independent review into ‘women on boards’, reinforced with the publication of the 2016 Hampton-Alexander Review, which sought to improve gender balance in FTSE leadership.

Building on the success of the Women on Boards programme, The Deloitte Academy BAME on Boards programme was introduced in 2017 to promote ethnic diversity on UK boards – in line with the recommendations from the Parker Review (Beyond One by ’21). The programme was developed in collaboration with the Black British Business Awards.
