Thinking digital in a new world

While many businesses have already explored the benefits of new technology, there are established organisations that see digital transformation as uncharted territory. Embarking on that journey can require these businesses to learn new ways of working.

To support our clients, we draw on extensive technology capabilities and subject matter specialists from across the world, allowing us to work at scale and pace. Globally we have more than 4,500 people in our data science community.

Cloud allows our clients to innovate, launch new products and services quickly, and analyse and process data beyond traditional boundaries. During lockdown, it was particularly effective in helping companies to provide alternative customer services solutions. With high street stores, branches and outlets closed, call centres experienced huge spikes in demand, while many businesses had to quickly enable their entire workforce to operate from home. Cloud presented an opportunity to think differently.

An intelligent approach

We’ve enabled clients to answer challenging questions about how their business functions using technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and augmented reality.

A project for the World Wildlife Fund is one example of the scale of technology’s impact. The Cognitive Deforestation Prevention programme is using artificial intelligence to predict where illegal deforestation will happen, helping to protect the world’s most fragile ecosystems.

The COVID-19 pandemic has shone a spotlight on the need for businesses to be digitally connected. It is now clearer than ever that investment in technology will be a critical catalyst for the recovery of UK business and beyond.
