Learning Technology Manager

What do my team and I do?
My role is all about driving the adoption and usage of digital learning at Deloitte. My focus is in three main areas: the development and sourcing of content; the technology platforms we use to deliver the content; and developing a digital learning strategy for the UK that supports Deloitte’s global strategy.
Where does my team fit?
The Learning Technology team design and deliver digital and blended learning experiences to develop Deloitte’s 15,000 people in the UK and Swiss practices. We are part of the firm-wide Learning team - a centre of expertise on industry learning, leadership development, coaching, learning events and training delivery.
How does my role make an impact that matters with Deloitte?
As an organisation we are actively seeking to employ a diverse range of people into an increasingly diverse range of roles. Traditional training methods don’t always scale well for our needs, particularly for an organisation our size. Through a combination of digital and blended training, we can give people a greater breadth of content which is easier to access at a time that is convenient for them. It turns learning on its head and makes us more efficient, more responsive, more effective and more agile.
My biggest accomplishment.
Being one of the original members of a ground-breaking project for the Department of Health called ‘e-Learning for Healthcare’. My e-learning templates were used across a vast library of content and have been sold to third parties. I’m also quite proud of the fact that I managed to get onto the London property market!
What I’m most proud of at Deloitte?
Building the Learning Technology team and raising our profile within Deloitte. We are changing the perception of digital and blended learning and opening people’s eyes to its possibilities. It’s an exciting time to be involved.
My favourite part of the job.
I’m passionate about using technology to solve problems and this role enables me to do that. Finding scalable solutions to meet our firm’s needs is a challenge, but there’s some great stuff going on in digital learning and Deloitte are keen to adapt.
Something more about me.
I’m incredibly proud of my young son and because of the firm’s agile working policies I’ve been able to shift my working hours so that I can collect him from nursery. Fortunately the firm recognises and respects that people are trying to juggle demanding careers with commitments and interests outside of work.
