What does an Apprenticeship involve?

Our Apprentices are here to shape their careers, as well as gain on-the-job experience. You’ll work right alongside your more experienced colleagues and be treated with the same respect from day one. But you’ll also get extra time and support to help you gain your professional qualifications.

Your experience here will help you obtain skills you’ll rely on throughout your entire career, wherever you decide to take them.

What kind of work would I be doing?

Our human capital professionals work across a number of teams. You could specialise in helping clients transform their HR systems or their organisational structures. Advise on programme leadership or reward and related risks. Or, you could be helping clients manage the various implications of global mobility and reward. Whatever your focus, you’ll be solving some of the most challenging issues our clients face.

Apprentices will have the chance to:

  • Work on organisation design, talent, leadership, change management, learning and culture change;
  • Aid innovation by researching and applying “People” solutions, including cloud, systems, actuarial and analytics (the emergence of HR cloud is changing the game for business-driven HR services);
  • Design and implement HR transformation projects: businesses are demanding more efficiency, scalability and agility from HR to deal with globalisation challenges and opportunities; and
  • Support full range of advisory, delivery and information services to clients who are planning or undertaking major transformations, delivering portfolios of projects or one-off mega investment programmes.

We want you to experience it all, so you’ll get the most out of your Apprenticeship.

What type of project could I be working on

You’ll get involved in live projects straight away and be involved in some of the most exciting and challenging projects that our clients are tackling.

We help our clients deliver projects that span financial, consumer business, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and public sectors. Giving you a unique opportunity to discover different industries and find a career path that suits you.

Your projects could involve helping our clients to manage and deliver large scale transformation programmes, or building training programmes to allow them to adopt the transofration effectively. You could be invovled in implementing a new cloud based technology tool to effectively manage a clients’ HR data. It’s all vital work, with tangible results.

What about learning and development opportunities?

Deloitte Apprenticeships are all about leaning and developing. You’ll get everything you need to thrive and grow. Study time is factored in to your working week, so you can work towards these industry recognised qualifications:

London:

  • The relevant qualification for the London BrightStart scheme (specifically aligned to our Actuarial, Analytics, and Reward service area) is still to be confirmed.

Belfast:

  • Business Technology degree via Ulster University AND
  • BCS (British Computer Society) qualification – The Chartered Institute for IT professional certifications

Dependent on the area of Human Capital that you go into you, you will also have the chance to undertake

  • Prince 2 AND; OR
  • Accreditations in cloud-based technology solutions such as Oracle Fusion, Workday or SAP Success Factor

But there’s much more to your development here than professional exams. As well as classroom study and e-learning, you’ll have 1:1 coaching, a designated Deloitte mentor to support you at work, and the technical and skills training you need to move your career on further down the line. Not to mention the invaluable experience of working on live projects from the outset.

Will there be a permanent job at the end of my Apprenticeship?

Yes, this is a permanent role. Once you’ve completed the BrightStart Higher Apprenticeship you will begin to focus on a particular service area and client market. You’ll have many options.

Where does Consulting Human Capital fit in to Deloitte UK?

Organisation Transformation & Talent (Belfast only)

Organisation Transformation and Talent (OT&T) specialises in supporting our clients with their transformation programmes and projects. We use our expertise to deliver some of the largest and most complex projects our client’s will ever face and we use a variety of innovative tools and resources to enable sustainable change.

Our team in Belfast provide programme management and change management support to national and global clients. We are also expanding to provide services across organisational design, training design & development and leadership development.

There is a huge amount of variety in the work we do, the skills you can learn and the types of clients you can work with across Financial Services, Manufacturing, Consumer Services and the Public Sector to name a few.

We currently have a team of over 50 people based in Belfast and work with our colleagues in the rest of the UK, Ireland and Europe. This is an exciting time to join a successful and growing team in Belfast.

Please note, this role is currently only based in Belfast. This opportunity offers a 5-year degree (in Business Technology) programme (via Ulster University) along with a relevant qualification.

Human Resources Transformation (Belfast only)

Human Resources (HR) is at a crossroads as it moves away from being seen as compliance function to one that is agile, business integrated, data driven and expert in attracting, developing and retaining talent. HR organisations need a ‘makeover’ to keep up with the rapidly changing business world to enable HR to play an integral role in shaping business strategy. With businesses demanding more efficiency, scalability and agility from HR to deal with globalisation challenges and opportunities, HR transformation has never been more active. The emergence of HR Cloud based technology is changing the game to drive further business driven HR services.

The team in Belfast is a rapidly developing function within Deloitte UK, combining technical HR software knowledge with industry expertise and analytical capability, to deliver innovative solutions to our clients. It has grown to over 20 team members including 4 BrightStarts and numbers will double by 2020 with 3 BrightStarts places available in 2017.

Actuarial, Rewards, & Analytics or ARA (London only)

Please note, this role is currently only based in London. The relevant qualification aligned to this BrightStart scheme is still to be confirmed.
