Life at Deloitte
Make an impact that matters
At Deloitte, Human Resources is transforming. We are already an award-winning HR team but we’re not resting there. To achieve our firm’s aspirations of becoming the undisputed leader in professional services by 2020, we’re changing the way we do things.
HR has a new mission. Here's the plan.
We want to make an impact that matters for our people, our clients and for society so we’re rolling out a new high impact operating model. We are going beyond ‘HR’s seat at the table’ to firmly embedding HR into the business, advising and innovating along with our business leaders. It will move HR from a function of ‘service delivery’ to a driver of improved business performance through strategic talent management; it will transform the team into considered advisors and change agents; and it will drive greater levels of innovation, thought-leadership and expertise.
By driving a culture of respect and inclusion, agility, collaboration, high-performance, growth and constant opportunity, we’ll create a working environment where you’re not defined by anything else but the impact you make.
We’re at the beginning of our journey. Do you want to come with us?

These communities will create valuable deep subject matter expertise for our HR Business Partners and People Solutions to draw on, providing thought leadership, policy, best practice, research, and learning in support of the business’ plans.

Opening the door to talent
Our smart, talented people are at the core of who we are. But to become the undisputed leaders in our field, we need to make sure we attract and hire more than our fair share of the strongest talent wherever this may be.
So, we’re putting in place a scalable, unified resourcing strategy that’s aligned to the business’ strategic goals. Responsible for the overall attraction, engagement, recruitment and mobility of our people, we’ll ensure the best people want to, and are able to join us anytime, anywhere in Deloitte, whether through an open talent approach or traditional employee model.
We see diversity as the key. We’ll open the door to the most diverse top talent; everyone from students to graduates, interns, secondees and experienced professionals. This approach helps us identify, attract and engage talent that others don’t recognise. Everybody brings something different to the table. We can’t wait to see what you bring.

Our exceptional people are the heart of our business success. We recruit the best and they deserve the best, so rewarding them fairly goes without saying.
In today’s climate, money alone does not motivate people. We have to be cleverer than that to attract talent and keep our talent engaged. It’s ingrained in who we are as an employer to recognise success and provide progression on merit.
Our tightknit team of specialists provide expertise and guidance to the business on the analysis, interpretation and implementation of Deloitte’s Total Reward strategy. As we move forward with our new model, the team will continue to provide high impact solutions to all areas of the firm which are meaningful and relevant to the business’ strategy. And, as leaders in our field, we’ll keep leveraging our expertise to lead the debate on issues we feel are important such as the gender pay gap and shared parental leave.
Right place, right time, right skills, right tools
Our skilled team of HR Operations experts are always asking questions. Do we have the right people in the right place, at the right time, with the right skills and the right tools to do the job? They are planning for our future; shaping our transformation; providing governance, accountability and continuity to the function. As guardians, they ensure HR plans support the needs of the business but are also flexible enough to cope with changes in the organisation, as and when they occur. All this is done with a clear purpose. So that HR can make an impact that matters to the business.
Creating intelligent business
It’s true. Knowledge is power. It’s the foundation for strategic decision making.
Our niche team will provide the essential people and HR performance management information needed to make data-driven strategic decisions. And it’s critical we get it right. The data and insights we draw will support firm-wide initiatives to improve processes, ensure compliance, increase efficiency and encourage transparency. And we’re getting smarter, better, faster at it every day.
