Learning Coordinator, Financial Advisory
What do my team and I do?
I am the contact person for 2 out of 5 business units within Financial Advisory. I co-ordinate the smooth running of the curriculum from start to finish which includes booking rooms, arranging a facilitator, providing reports on who has completed training and working with the Learning Partners to ensure the courses are running cost-effectively.
Where does my team fit?
I’m the Learning Coordinator for Financial Advisory so all the courses I work on are relevant to the service line. I collaborate with the Training and Knowledge Team, Client Service HR team and link in with HR Talent team.
How does my role make an impact that matters with Deloitte?
I think learning is a great way to retain the best talent in the business. It nurtures and develops the people we have and it can really make a positive difference to their lives. It was one of the things that attracted me to Deloitte – the firm invests in its people and is interested in developing their careers.
My biggest accomplishment.
Having the courage to leave my country on my own and make a life for myself here. I worked part-time whilst studying full time which was quite challenging. I gained a 1st class honours degree in Human Resource Management and English though which I am very proud of.
What I’m most proud of at Deloitte?
Succeeding at the interview. As I am not from this country and I was worried I may not be good enough. The firm didn’t look at it that way though, they respected my achievements. There’s a lot of focus on diversity, respect and inclusion at Deloitte.
My favourite part of the job.
I enjoy working in my team. I’m able to voice my opinion, challenge views, and actively contribute to decision-making. I can see my future here and the roles I want to develop into going forward.
