Siang Yeap, HR Business Partner for Global Employer Services

My biggest accomplishment
I’m on an International secondment from Australia. I’m proud to have secured my secondment. International mobility is growing but at the time in which I moved, it was still quite rare. I’d been at Deloitte for over four years in a regional role and I was looking for a change and a new challenge. It’s been a very smooth transition.

Siang is helping to put people front of mind in the business. Read Siang’s story.

Employee Relations

Laura Haywood, Employee Relations Manager

What I’m most proud of at Deloitte
I studied to become an accredited mediator through the firm which was a big personal development piece for me. This is a different skill set to the skills required for my role and it was interesting to get a new perspective on how to manage people conflict.

Day to day Laura gets involved with a huge variety of work and enjoys working on some quite complex cases. Read Laura’s story

How does my role make an impact that matters with Deloitte?
I think learning is a great way to retain the best talent in the business. It nurtures and develops the people we have and it can really make a positive difference to their lives. Sarah Birtwell, Training and Knowledge Co-coordinator

My favourite part of the job
I enjoy the independence of scheduling courses myself. I have recently taken over a new course called Working Parents Transitions programme and I work together with the external facilitators to organise dates and sessions. It’s a great programme so I am happy to be involved with it.

Louise Worbey, Head of International Mobility

What I’m most proud of at Deloitte.
I’m very proud of my team. We’ve tripled in numbers in the last three years which I think reflects the growing importance of international mobility within the firm and we have begun to be recognised in our industry for the good work we are doing. We have a team both here in the UK and more recently a team based in our practice in Switzerland, as we needed on the ground expertise to help better support our colleagues there too.

Reward

Debbie Cook, Senior Reward Manager

My biggest accomplishment
Being a working mum. I don’t feel I have sacrificed either my career or being a mum; I’m enjoying both. Deloitte has been very supportive; I’ve worked part-time, full time, worked at home and even worked school hours and my career has continued to go from strength to strength.

HR Operations

Helen Dinsdale, HR Operations Manager

What do my team and I do?
We are helping to build the HR function for the future. We’ve got a helicopter view of the function and it’s our job to ensure we have the right resources in place to help us achieve our goals. We work out if there are any gaps in our knowledge, skill set, capabilities and tools that may stop HR being successful.

Management Information

Richard Foakes, HR MI Manager

What I’m most proud of at Deloitte
In the last couple of years we launched new pay review software called the Deloitte Reward System. The previous system had become unmanageable so it was a huge step forward for us in terms of functionality. It’s really improved the way we do things.
