Operations Manager for Clients & Markets, London
What do my team and I do?
We’ve been through a lot of change recently and our role is to help embed the new strategy and structure across Clients & Markets. We are effectively connecting the dots across the department; providing the leadership team with new and improved tools and techniques to manage their resources, budgets and mitigate risk across the business in a more streamlined way. We’ve set clear objectives that we are working to and everyone and everything is fully behind achieving our strategic priorities and driving the changes necessary to meet our 2020 aspirations.
Where does my team fit?
Operations is a niche team that cross-sects every other team in Clients & Markets. We are part of Internal Client Services, Deloitte’s support function who provides many of the central functions to making our business successful.
How does my role make an impact that matters with Deloitte?
We are here to keep the cogs running smoothly. All of our people in C&M are doing great work supporting the Partners, the charity partners, supporting our clients and our delivery teams and when you have a team that size, there has to be a lot in place to support them. We provide the governance, discipline and infrastructure to enable them to be successful. So with the recent changes to our structure in mind, we are educating the teams about everything that needs to be in place from a talent, reporting, and planning and risk management perspective for the new structure to be successful.
My biggest accomplishment
Deloitte sponsored the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and I was the Manager for our service delivery programme. It was a fantastic opportunity. Eighty people were seconded onto the London organising committee from across every part of Deloitte and we undertook dozens of advisory projects. It was my job to manage the team and so I built up a broad network. I was working with some very inspirational people and I learnt a lot about how to work at a senior level.
What I’m most proud of at Deloitte
Deloitte has really invested in my development and I’m proud I have gained my CIMA and PRINCE2 qualifications while I have been here.
My favourite part of the job
For me it’s quite simplistic. I like feeling that I am making a difference. If I can take some of the burden away from the leadership team then I know I am doing my job well. I’ve been with Deloitte for about fifteen years now and I’ve held a variety of roles throughout the organisation. I’ve just returned from maternity leave and I’m working part-time, largely from home. I’m fairly new to this role but I’m looking forward to bringing my knowledge and experience to the table.

I was the first Executive Assistant to become a Consultant. There are plenty of opportunities here. It’s up to you to make the most of them.
