Life Insurance

Actuarial & Insurance Solutions Life (A&IS Life) has experience across the European life insurance industry. Our practice has both breadth and technical depth – something that is increasingly important in the world of Solvency II and IFRS2. We are the leading provider of Solvency II/Financial Transformation services in the UK life industry. In addition, we have a strong presence in the more traditional areas such as mergers & acquisitions, modelling, review work and audit. As barriers have come down within the financial services industry, our clients now include insurers, banks and building societies, high street retailers and new market entrants. We work with clients across the spectrum, from large household names to small niche players.

Our people have the opportunity to develop their skills across a wide range of areas, both formally and informally. A large part of development occurs through involvement in a wide variety of client and internal projects, offering the opportunity to develop both technical actuarial skills and broader business skills. We foster an open and friendly working environment that naturally allows everyone to learn from the wide range of experts within the practice. We have a formal performance management framework to help our people develop in their current role and progress through the grades towards partner.

Total Reward and Benefits

The Total Reward and Benefits team works with clients on their reward strategy and implementation, and the management of pensions and other employee benefits plans. It is a thriving service within Human Capital comprising of more than 100 specialists working in the fields of corporate advisory, transaction services, and investment services. Our clients range from small regional manufacturers to FTSE 100 multinationals.

Total Reward and Benefits offers a broad range of services: actuarial services, financial modelling and accounting support, executive pensions consulting, flexible benefits, investment services, international pensions, employee benefit consulting, scheme administration, and transaction support.

The way in which we combine actuarial benefit advice with broader business advice from around the world makes us unique in the pensions and employee benefits service market. We can provide clients with integrated audit, tax and other advice, as we already do for some of the largest pension plans in the world.

With pension deficits rising to record highs, pensions have risen up the board agenda rapidly and for some companies can be business-critical. This has created an unprecedented opportunity for experienced professionals like you to work with Deloitte to offer independent advice focusing on corporate needs, independent of the relationship between pension scheme trustees and their advisers.

General Insurance

Our General Insurance team covers a wide variety of services to a range of clients. As well as general services, we cover Lloyds and the London Market, Mergers & Acquisitions, finance and business planning, reinsurance and commutations, fair values and capital management, pricing and price elasticity, specialist software and other services.
