Amy was a Consultant in our Consulting team based in London. She joined Deloitte in 2010 as a Scholar and now studies Neuroscience at the University of Nottingham.

What do you like most about your role?

The responsibility I am given to carry out important tasks that positively impact clients

 

What are the main benefits of joining the Deloitte Scholar Scheme?

The countless fantastic opportunities given throughout the gap year as well as throughout university; experiencing the world of work, meeting lots of influential people, making connections for the future and gaining an understanding of what work in all the different service lines of Deloitte entail in order to make the best decision to suit you in your future career.

 

What aspects of your degree do you feel may support you in your role and success at Deloitte?

The skills gained from studying any degree prepare you to be successful at Deloitte by learning good presentation skills, time management, team working and overall social skills to support working with Deloitte people in a professional environment.

 

What work do you get involved in on a day to day basis at Deloitte when on placement?

Providing assistance to managers and senior members of a project team by carrying out research, preparing presentations and doing analysis for client deliverables.

 

How do you deliver or contribute impact, leadership or innovation in your role?

Being always willing to help in any project task, carrying out every role to the best of my ability and always offering additional assistance wherever possible.

 

What social, society and CSR activities have you been involved with at Deloitte?

Attending all the events, parties and social drinks evenings including a cocktail making evening in London, Christmas parties and a ‘Black and Gold’ ball. 

I also attended a Consulting wide ‘Together Incredible’ day.

 

How is the Deloitte Scholar Scheme going to further your long term career ambitions?

The experiences I’ve had, the skills I’ve gained and connections I’ve made with people I’ve met during my time at Deloitte will help me in my career, whatever I decide to take on long term.
