The Connected Factory experience

Digital solutions on the manufacturing floor

To help organisations visualise how digital technology can revolutionise themselves, we have developed an immersive experience which showcases how manufacturing processes can be enhanced through greater connectivity. The experience can be tailored to an organisation’s specific needs to address the emerging challenges and opportunities of Industry 4.0.

The Connected factory is an immersive experience that brings together Deloitte, PTC and the AMRC, the Advance Manufacturing Research Centre, to support manufacturers on the topic of digital manufacturing transformation. It provides an environment for manufacturers to explore the impact of the 4th Industrial Revolution in relation to key manufacturing management functions (Environment, Health and Safety; Inbound Inventory; Shop Floor; Process, Technologies & Methods; Assets and Maintenance; Quality).

The environment supports discussions on benefits in terms of improved agility, transparency and optimisation of manufacturing processes - as well as practical demonstrations of supporting technologies and exploring the journey ahead.

Deloitte's collaboration with PTC and the AMRC is an exciting development, bringing together global leaders in Advanced Manufacturing, Industry 4.0 software solutions and Digital Transformation. The Connected Factory is a reflection of the partnership helping organisations assess what Industry 4.0 means for them, where they might start and how they move forward successfully.

Launch event and first visitors

The Connected factory was showcased to 120 delegates at the AMRC Annual Conference, then to the Digital Manufacturing Special Interest group members of the Aerospace, Defence, Security & Space Group, as well as representatives from a variety of organisations from the aerospace, automotive, construction and manufacturing sectors. Subsequently, it has been in demand from Industrial organisations who are keen to share it with their supply chain to ignite conversations around leading practices and technologies which are transforming today’s industries.

A press release, initiated by PTC and relating to the launch, is available here.
