HMRC have announced that employers will have to process all benefits in kind through the payroll from April 2026. For most employers, this will require a major transformation project with implications for many stakeholders involved in employee benefit provision and reporting. What should your organisation be looking at to prepare for this major change? We’ll discuss:
- HMRC’s announcement: what we know (and what’s still unknown)
- The challenges mandatory payrolling will bring when dealing with particular employee populations (e.g. internationally mobile), certain benefit categories (e.g. loans) and at certain points in time (e.g. new employees)
- How moving to mandatory payrolling will affect employees’ tax codes and the tax they pay in real time
- Putting together a roadmap that fits your organisation’s needs, including which stakeholders to engage when
- Our practical experience to date helping employers move to voluntary payrolling
Keep up-to-date with mandatory payrolling.
