As governments seek to reduce the amount of non-recycled / single use plastic in supply chains, a number of policy measures are being introduced. This includes plastic packaging taxes. The UK and Spain are expected to introduce new plastic packaging taxes in the first half of 2022; Italy recently announced that its plastic packaging tax would be postponed to 2023. There are some similarities between the taxes, but these are national measures, and so businesses importing or manufacturing plastic packaging in each jurisdiction will need to manage varying compliance requirements. How can your organisation prepare for the introduction of these taxes? We’ll discuss:

  • An overview of the taxes in the UK, Spain and Italy.Trends in how businesses are responding.
  • Key data requirements.
  • Preparing for implementation.

Join our panel as they explore the new taxes and how businesses can prepare. Look out for future Dbriefs in our latest ESG mini-series.
