An Age of Tax Controversy: Global Themes In Experiencing Tax Disputes [On demand]

Dbriefs Webcast

(Aired 22 September 2022)

Host: Annis Lampard

Presenters: Ben Pitts, Jamie Bedford, Tammy Arendse

Multinational organisations have been experiencing unprecedentedly high levels of tax disputes both in jurisdiction and on a cross-border basis. Resolving these appropriately takes time, and involves financial and reputational factors. As a result, senior leadership within multinational organisations are more
interested in reaching a reasonable resolution but it is not easy for tax and
finance functions who manage disputes to compare their experience with peers. Deloitte has therefore conducted a global controversy survey with over 300 organisations to gather new data on how and why organisations experience controversy today and potential responses. What could your organisation be looking at? We’ll discuss:

  • Key themes and trends from Deloitte’s global survey.
  • The relationship between tax governance and responding to tax controversy.
  • Practical suggestions on being better prepared.
  • The role of lawyers and litigation in resolving tax controversy.

Keep up-to-date with current trends and ideas.

This webcast is the first in a Tax Controversy mini-series where we will be exploring different hot topics. Look out for more details in our future newsletters and the Dbriefs website.
