UK Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme: The Next Stage - Compliance And HMRC Enforcement [On demand]
Aired 9 September 2020
Host: James Warwick
Presenters: Michael Nicolaides, Andrew Lilley, Mark Jones
The UK Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) was implemented with unprecedented speed, with claims being compiled by employers at pace. As a result, less attention may have been paid to the detail and accuracy of claims. HMRC’s role in the early stages was to support business and ensure genuine claims were paid out quickly. Their focus has now changed to making sure claims are complete and accurate, with greater diligence being undertaken before approving claims. What does your organisation need to be looking at? We’ll discuss:
- CJRS enforcement provisions from Finance Act 2020.
- Building a governance process to check and document CJRS claims.
- Common errors, claim error rectification and disclosure.
- Provisions relating to the Coronavirus Job Retention Bonus (CJRB).
