Discovery Consulting

Is your organisation adequately organised and resourced to respond to regulator, civil and criminal proceeding disclosure requests, across all jurisdictions, to the quality and timescales expected from the judiciary and regulators? Deloitte is helping organisations define their current e-Discovery operating model; identifying where the organisation would like to/needs to be; and implementing process and technology to close the gap. We are assisting clients in identifying the potential risks and cost inefficiencies in their Discovery process and supported them to realise cost saving and implement risk reduction strategies as well as considering the most appropriate business model for their Discovery response.

Any business dispute, commercial or regulatory investigation litigation contains many complex aspects.  In many cases the outcome may hinge on identifying when a single piece of data was generated, communicated, altered or deleted, by and to whom, and under what circumstances. Given the quantities of data that companies produce these days, finding this information in a timely and cost-efficient manner is becoming increasingly challenging.

Our Discovery Consulting team assists organisations to identify risks and potential solutions to the challenges encountered in their Discovery responses by:

  • Understanding an organisation's data environment (e.g. its data sources, storage, retention and retrieval technologies and processes) and the challenges this presents in identifying and capturing data of potential relevance to data request;
  • Analysing the procedures and organisational structure supporting the organisation’s e-Discovery process to identify potential operational, technological, and quality improvements and efficiencies.
  • Our extensive knowledge of the range of e-Discovery software and services vendors. We assist on the selection and implementation of the extensive range of technology and services that assists lawyers, accountants, experts and investigators in the identification, collection, filtering, processing, review, production and presentation of the increasingly broader range of Electronically Stored Information (ESI).

Deloitte is helping organisations define their current e-Discovery operating model; identifying where the organisation would like/needs to be; and implementing process and technology to close the gap.
