Deloitte appoints Bill Page as senior Africa advisor

19 November 2014

Bill Page has joined Deloitte UK, the business advisory firm, as a senior advisor for African projects based in London. He will lead Deloitte’s UK-based Africa tax team, which deals with the challenges faced by companies who have invested in or plan to invest there.

Bill joins after five years at Deloitte in Tanzania, where he was the partner responsible for Deloitte’s tax practices there and in Uganda, as well as leading the team focusing on the energy and resources industries across East Africa. Prior to this he spent nearly 11 years in the former Soviet Union, where he led Deloitte’s oil and gas industry team based in Moscow and was tax leader for the Caspian region, based in Almaty.

Julian Small, UK energy and resources lead at Deloitte, said: “With seven of the world’s ten fastest growing economies, Africa is a very exciting place with a lot of opportunity for UK businesses. The continent poses a number of challenges and Bill’s wealth of experience there is a great asset to us in helping companies do business there.”

Bill Page added: “African growth remains closely linked to oil, gas and minerals, but other economic segments are also beginning to take off, in particular telecommunications, financial services and retail. I look forward to assisting businesses in what is an exciting and dynamic market.”
