Deloitte appoints leading fintech expert, as digital consulting team sets eyes on FS tech sector
8 June 2015
Deloitte, the business advisory firm, today announces the appointment of Jonathan Gray as a partner in its London-based financial services consultancy practice.
Specialising in digital solutions for financial services, Gray brings with him over 20 years’ experience working with global companies across retail banking, wealth management, credit cards and insurance in the UK, Europe and US.
Richard Widdas, head of financial services consulting, said: “The outlook for the UK and European financial services sector, whilst increasingly positive, remains challenging. For example, pensions reforms will see life insurers handling higher demand for withdrawals and customer queries, whilst general insurers will be looking for ways to differentiate their products. Banks are competing with technology-led new entrants and specialists focussing on services like peer-to-peer lending or even ‘bankless’ banking. Digital marketing, web and mobile solutions and web analytics have never been more important, and we’re building our team with key appointments like Jonathan so our clients can grow through these challenges.”
Gray added: “Traditional financial services companies are being disrupted by new products and services, business models and ways of working with customers. This is all enabled by digital, and both challenger businesses and our traditional clients are very active in responding to this opportunity. The financial services digital consulting market has expanded rapidly and is forecast to grow by 20-25%. Deloitte is investing heavily in digital and we are well placed to help our clients make the right choices in this rapidly evolving sector.”
