Abhishek Jaiswal joins Deloitte to lead Real Estate M&A

8 November 2021

Abhishek Jaiswal has joined Deloitte’s Financial Advisory practice as a partner to head Real Estate M&A services for the sector.

Abhishek has over 17 years of experience in M&A and principal investments. He joins Deloitte from Bank of America, where, as a lead real estate investment banker, he originated and executed over US$50 billion of M&A and capital market transactions across Europe and the Middle East. This activity includes M&A, public to privates, portfolio transactions, joint ventures, IPOs, debt and equity raising and rating advisory services.

Born and raised in India, he holds an MBA from INSEAD in France and a bachelor’s in computer engineering from NUS in Singapore.

Commenting on Abhishek’s appointment Fenton Burgin, Head of Advisory Corporate Finance said: “As transaction activity picks up in the real estate and infrastructure sectors, Abhishek brings a wide range of senior client relationships and depth of experience in M&A. Along with recent hires in Germany and Scandinavia, Abhishek’s appointment underscores the firm’s commitment to a sector going through the biggest period of change in the last 20 years.”

Nigel Shilton, Head of Real Assets Advisory said: “As we come out of the pandemic, the real estate and infrastructure sectors are experiencing structural reform leaving some questioning if we will ever return to pre-pandemic practices. These rapid changes are presenting significant opportunities for investors and other major stakeholders. We are excited to combine M&A, debt, transaction support and tax advisory services in one proposition. With over fifty partners, the team is one of the largest in the UK market.”

Matt Townsend, Vice Chairman and Real Estate Tax Partner said: “Demand from real estate financial investors has never been higher as Private Equity, Institutional, Family Office and Listed clients diversify into more complex operating real estate assets. To meet that need, the collaboration between our Real Estate teams, including Real Estate Tax, allows us to cover the transaction through one joined up team. Abhishek on the M&A side is a final piece of that jigsaw and the glue that brings it all together, making ours a truly differentiated offering in the market.”

Abhishek Jaiswal, partner and head of Real Estate M&A Advisory concluded: “I am delighted to join Deloitte to lead the Real Estate M&A business, building a market leading offering. Global public and private investors are increasingly focused on building large scale multi-asset platforms across sectors. These include logistics, distribution, key infrastructure, social housing, commercial and industrial properties, renewables, hotels and leisure. Deloitte’s team dedicated to the sector put us in a unique position to advise our clients.”
