Deloitte appoints Andreas Scriven as head of UK hospitality and leisure

4 September 2017

Deloitte, the business advisory firm, has today announced the appointment of Andreas Scriven as its new head of UK hospitality and leisure, replacing Nick van Marken. Recognised as a leader in its field, the team is part of Deloitte’s travel, hospitality and leisure (‘THL’) industry group, which provides corporate finance, consulting, tax and assurance services to the international hospitality industry.

Based in the London office, Andreas will be responsible for leading Deloitte’s hospitality and leisure practice in the UK and will help the broader leadership team to shape the firm’s strategy in the THL sector, as well as working with the firm’s global network of offices. He has extensive international experience in consultancy and M&A, including the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and North America.

Andreas has advised on more than £30bn of debt exposure across the hospitality and leisure sectors in recent years, and he is an expert in commercial due diligence, strategic advice, bank support, feasibility and market analysis. His experience in advising clients includes many of the leading global brands and operators, private equity and hedge funds, property investors and developers, and overseas investment funds.

Prior to joining Deloitte, Andreas was the International Managing Director at Christie & Co where he had responsibility for 16 offices across Europe, the Middle East and China. In addition, he headed up the Consultancy service line across the firm. A graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, Andreas previously worked for both Arthur Andersen and Deloitte in the US and Europe and has operational hotel experience in the USA, Switzerland and Hong Kong.

Commenting on the appointment, Dominic Graham, head of THL at Deloitte in the UK, said: “It is excellent to have someone of Andreas’s calibre at the helm. Andreas brings a wealth of experience in and it is clear to see that his leadership will only benefit the rest of the team and our clients in this fast-growing industry.”

Andreas Scriven, incoming head of hospitality and leisure at Deloitte, commented on his appointment: "This is an exciting and challenging time for the hospitality and leisure industries. It is a competitive sector that has to adapt to changing consumer habits and disruptive technology.”

Andreas regularly speaks and moderates at leading hospitality conferences and will be present at this year’s European Hotel Investment Conference in November, hosted by Deloitte.
