Deloitte appoints new senior partner for the South East region covering Cambridge, St Albans and Ipswich

04 July 2022

Deloitte has appointed Fran Cousins as the new senior partner for the South East region - the first woman to hold this senior position in the region.

Fran joined Deloitte in 2015, specialising in public sector technology and digital risk in healthcare and life sciences. Before joining the firm, Fran worked in the healthcare industry for 18 years, including as an executive director at Cambridge University Hospitals for 11 years. She has lived and worked in Cambridge for 30 years and is passionate about the opportunities for growth across the region.
Fran replaces Paul Schofield, who has led the region for seven years. Paul will continue to work as the Cambridge office senior partner and has taken on an enlarged audit portfolio in the region and beyond.

Fran commented on her appointment: “I’m looking forward to working closely with my fellow partners to not only grow our practice, but recognise the growth opportunities for our local, national and global clients.

“We recently announced 255 promotions in our region and ensuring our people flourish in their careers and creating even more diverse and inclusive teams are my priorities. As a working parent myself, I value the flexibility of Deloitte’s hybrid working model which allows our people to choose where, when and how they best do their work, in balance with their professional and personal responsibilities. I am excited to start this journey today.”

Dan Barlow, managing partner for regions at Deloitte, added: “Fran is a fantastic addition to our leadership team and will be instrumental in achieving our core objective of helping our clients grow and achieve success. I know that Fran and our teams across East Anglia and the South East will make a really important contribution to the region in making this happen.

“I would like to thank Paul Schofield for his outstanding contribution in the significant growth of our business in the region. In the last four years alone, Paul has led the opening of the new Deloitte offices at One Station Square, the opening of the Global Trade Bureau office in Ipswich and the launch of our Life Sciences hub in Cambridge.”
