Deloitte chief economist comments on today's inflation figures

Commenting on the latest inflation figures, published by the ONS today, Ian Stewart, chief economist at Deloitte, said:

“This is a challenging time for the economy with high inflation depressing consumption and driving rates higher. The Bank of England faces a major hurdle in bringing inflation back to target and keeping the economy growing.”
