Deloitte’s chief economist labour market figures comment
24 January 2018
Commenting on the latest labour market figures, published this morning by the Office for National Statistics, Ian Stewart, chief economist at Deloitte, the business advisory firm, said:
“Despite slower growth there’s been no softening in the rate of job creation. With unemployment in the UK among the lowest in Europe and with record levels of job vacancies we’d expect wage growth to edge higher this year. The worst of the squeeze on incomes is probably behind us.”
