Deloitte comments on the NHS 10 year plan

Sara Siegel, Deloitte’s head of healthcare, said: “We are supportive of the NHS 10 year plan and the new focus of investment. A lot of investment and overall spend has historically been focused on the acute sector. If integrated care systems are to become a reality, more support needs to be given to primary and community services including mental health. These are the services that will carry a greater burden now and in the future if less is to be done in acute settings. To make this a reality, these services need investment and each health system needs to start acting like a coordinated unit and less like stand-alone individual entities.”
