Deloitte economist comments on this morning's unemployment figures
10 September 2019
Commenting on the latest unemployment figures, published this morning by the Office for National Statistics, Debapratim De, UK economist at Deloitte, said:
“A pick-up in real wages and ultra-low unemployment levels indicate a tight labour market and further gains in consumer spending power. However, with continued uncertainty over Brexit and a squeeze on business investment, the glory days of rapidly falling unemployment could be behind us.”
