Deloitte's Multicultural Network (MCN) wins European Diversity Award

5 December 2016

Deloitte’s Multicultural Network (MCN) was named “Outstanding Employee Network Group of the Year” at the European Diversity Awards. The awards recognise individuals and organisations who have made an outstanding contribution to equality, diversity and inclusion across Europe. The European Diversity Awards recognises achievement in all areas of diversity including race, age, sexuality, disability, gender identity and belief.

Established 10 years ago along with eight other diversity networks, MCN supports the firm’s focus on ensuring that it provides an inclusive culture that is underpinned by respect. The judges were impressed with MCN’s activities, which include quarterly career webinars, graduate recruitment events and public speaking workshops with a British-Asian performing arts company. The judges also commended the network for raising awareness of the refugee crisis and events to heighten awareness of mental health challenges and wellbeing issues in ethnic minority groups.

Emma Codd, Managing Partner for Talent at Deloitte, said: “At Deloitte we are working hard to ensure that everyone can thrive, develop and succeed in our firm based on the value they bring, regardless of background, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or any other aspect of diversity. I am very proud to see Deloitte’s Multicultural Network being recognised for all they have done to make the firm more inclusive.”

The network's co-chairs, Lola Abitogun and Akshara Venkatesh, collected the award on behalf of Deloitte’s Multicultural Network.
