Deloitte statement on Spending Review - policing
4 September 2019
Commenting on today’s Spending Review, Richard Hobbs, Deloitte’s UK policing lead said:
“Today’s Spending Review confirmed the first £750m against the Prime Minister’s commitment to recruit 20,000 new police officers over the next three years. It’s now over to policing leaders to mobilise recruitment activities at the pace expected – whilst considering the policy changes needed to make this happen. It will also be interesting to see how the allocation is determined, what improvements in public safety are expected and how these will play out across an already complex governance landscape.”
