Deloitte UK economist comments on this morning's inflation figures
13 November 2019
Commenting on the latest inflation figures, published this morning by the Office for National Statistics, Debapratim De, UK economist at Deloitte, said:
“Inflation falling to a three-year low is welcome news for consumers at a time of faltering employment growth. But, those expecting continued below-target inflation to trigger rate cuts will be disappointed.
Today’s house price data show the London housing market continues to be afflicted by uncertainty over Brexit - which, combined with a slowdown in hiring, makes an immediate recovery seem unlikely.”
