Driverless cars and the Queen’s Speech: the most important day for motor insurance?

Sulabh Soral in Deloitte’s innovation insurance team said:

“This new legislative framework will force the insurance industry to change how they think about risk as it challenges the fundamental assumption on driver behaviour. We are already beginning to see motor insurance that focuses on when and where a car is driven. This will become even more important as cars become smarter. Motor insurers will also need to think carefully about the ultimate liability as insurance products evolve to cover smarter cars.”
