Duncan Johnston, comments on today’s UK PMI data for February

Commenting on the latest PMI data for February, Duncan Johnston, UK head of manufacturing at Deloitte, said:

“PMI data for February paints an encouraging picture for UK manufacturing, despite supply constraints and logistics challenges with imports. The rise in new orders and optimism about the future has given manufacturers the confidence to increase employment. Jobs grew at the fastest rate since June 2018, as many businesses geared up for what is expected to be a strong summer recovery.”
