Deloitte’s chief economist: Jobs recovery rolls on
14 September 2016
Commenting on the latest labour market figures, published this morning by the Office for National Statistics, Ian Stewart, chief economist at Deloitte, the business advisory firm, said:
“These data cover only a part of the post referendum period, so don’t give a full verdict on the effects of Brexit. But the early message from these numbers is that the jobs recovery rolls on.
“Unemployment is falling, jobs are being created and earnings are heading up. Britain’s jobless rate is half that of the euro area.”
