Deloitte Real Estate announces director appointment to Leeds office

20 April 2018

Deloitte Real Estate has appointed Nolan Tucker as director, adding to its existing senior leadership team in the planning and development business.

Nolan will be based in Deloitte Real Estate's Leeds office and joins from WYG, where he worked for 11 years, latterly as head of the firm’s Leeds planning team. At WYG, Nolan advised on major residential, commercial, and energy projects across Yorkshire and the wider North East. This includes new road and rail links at Leeds Bradford Airport in addition to securing planning permission on the £40m redevelopment of two new stands at Emerald Headingley Stadium.

With over 13 years’ experience in the Yorkshire market, Nolan will work as part of Deloitte Real Estate’s planning and development business, leading on large scale residential and mixed use developments across the U.K and major projects with a focus on the Leeds city region.

Nolan’s appointment strengthens Deloitte Real Estate’s existing presence in Leeds. The firm is currently retained planning advisor on Trinity Leeds Shopping Centre and has secured planning permissions on a number of key schemes, including Leeds Dock, Allied London’s mixed use development, and Vita Student, the multi-storey student accommodation building between St Alban’s Place and Belgrave Street.

Deloitte Real Estate is also advising on the planned 36-storey skyscraper for students next to Leeds Arena, which will become one of the city’s tallest buildings should the development achieve approval.

John Cooper, partner at Deloitte Real Estate, said: “The Leeds market represents an exciting opportunity to expand our successful planning and development business. Growing investor confidence means the outlook for development in the city centre remains strong, and this is reflected in the increase in construction volumes we are seeing.

“With over a decade of experience in Yorkshire, Nolan puts us in a position to better capitalise on this growing market. His track record of leadership and strategic planning support on some of the region’s key developments will be vital as we continue to expand our service arms with functions such as Cities Advisory. I am also pleased to strengthen our existing team, which has already demonstrated a track record of securing key developments across the region.”

Nolan Tucker, director at Deloitte Real Estate, said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to join Deloitte Real Estate’s talented team to promote business in Leeds and further develop the regional real estate market. With the support of the expertise and talent across the wider Real Estate team, we will be in a position to add great value to the region and drive further development in this exciting market.”
