Deloitte’s South West & Wales practice
Who we are and what we do
Our South West & Wales practice, with offices in Bristol and Cardiff, is made up of nearly 2,000 professionals with a wide range of specialist skills.
At Deloitte, we aim to make a difference to our clients, our people and in society. We are committed to the success of the South West and Wales and the companies, organisations and individuals without whom this region and nation would not prosper and grow. We combine insight and innovation with business and industry knowledge to solve our clients’ biggest challenges. We pride ourselves on delivering an outstanding impact on the reputation and success of our clients, and in pursuing this, we benefit our local economies and communities.
What we offer our clients
Our South West & Wales practice offers a full range of professional services. We may be best known for our tax and audit services, but alongside these we offer so much more to our clients. Whether it’s digital transformation expertise, sustainability know how, cyber skills or financial advice, we help clients meet challenges big and small.
Who we work with
We have a diverse client base, from multi-nationals and UK corporates to leading privately owned businesses, high net-worth individuals as well as organisations from the public and third sectors across Wales and the South West, and around the UK.
Our regional expertise
Our audit capabilities in the South West & Wales consists of three streams: public audit, where we work with the largest and most high-profile listed companies in our region and across the UK; financial services audit, for which our client portfolio includes every kind of financial services organisation, from insurance sector companies to investment management to those in banking and capital markets; and Deloitte Private, where we work with the fastest growing, most influential privately owned businesses across the South West & Wales and nationally.
Our South West & Wales based assurance teams bring expertise in everything from complex accounting and financial modelling to treasury controls and markets assurance. We use this expertise to provide finance leaders with assurance on their accounting, regulatory and transaction needs.
In Tax, we provide our clients with a broad range of fully integrated tax services, offering the support and advice they need to make key decisions on an international scale. We bring together a mix of commercial, industry and technical tax knowledge, creative thinking and innovative technology, to help solve some of the most complex business issues our clients face.
Our services in the South West & Wales include Business Tax, Global Employer Services, Indirect Tax and Tax Management Consulting.
Our Financial Advisory teams provide advice and services far beyond pure financial diligence, such as mergers, acquisitions and disposals, financial crime investigations, debt and equity fund raisings, debt advisory, investments, management buy-outs and buy-ins, long-term business planning, business modelling and strategic projects. Clients include public and private companies, shareholders, management teams, owner-managers, entrepreneurs, and private equity houses.
Our Risk Advisory practice advises organisations on how to effectively mitigate risk and make informed and intelligent risk decisions around business processes, technology and operations, and respond positively to uncertainty. Our teams help clients to comply with changing laws and best practice, understand and anticipate the risks around cyber threats, financial, operational or technological risks, as well as offer innovative solutions to build resilience, safeguard reputations and respond in a crisis.
Whether our clients are facing a specific problem or grasping new opportunities, from technology innovations to operational transformation, our Consulting teams help them shape the ideas, strategies and actions they need to succeed, now and for an ever-more-digital future.
Located in Bristol, TechWorks brings Deloitte’s global expertise and capabilities to clients in the South West and Wales. A technology hub with a dedicated collaboration space, our local team of 60 technologists, systems engineers and digital experts work with our clients to find and build a whole spectrum of solutions.
Our Delivery Centre in Cardiff is a strategic near-shore service centre that offers an extensive range of research and other services in support of our client-facing staff in the UK and overseas. The centre is home to numerous teams focused on business administration, analytical and research-type activities as well as several more specialised services including IT.
The range of roles, skills and the scale of activity in our Cardiff hub has resulted in more opportunities outside of traditional accountancy or consultancy type roles to many people who would not previously have considered a career within professional services.
Our climate commitment
To do our part to help the world achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement, Deloitte has launched WorldClimate, our strategy to drive responsible climate choices within our organisation and beyond.
We recognise change starts within and Deloitte has set itself goals, empowering our professionals and connecting with our broader ecosystem to create solutions that facilitate the transition to a low carbon economy.
The effects of climate change are significant. But working together, we can drive positive change and progress is possible. To assist business and society in their actions, we’ve developed a hub for all things climate change, where you’ll find lots of resources and ideas to help you take action where it matters most.
Making an impact in the local community
We’ve forged links with both charity and school partners in our local communities as part of our Five Million Futures social impact strategy. Together with our people in both Bristol and Cardiff, we are working to make a difference and create brighter futures for young people in Wales and the South West.
