Daniel Barlow & Paul Schofield are the Practice Senior Partners for the Deloitte South East offices of Reading, Gatwick, Southampton, St Albans, Cambridge and Milton Keynes.
Deloitte is delighted to announce that Daniel Barlow and Paul Schofield have both been appointed as the new Practice Senior Partners for its offices in Reading, Gatwick and Southampton & St Albans, Cambridge and Milton Keynes.
Daniel, a tax Partner, has been with the firm for over 19 years, spending significant parts of his career both in the South East of England and working in Deloitte’s central London offices. He said, “the vast majority of my time will be spent advising our clients in the South East and ensuring that we are bringing them the best of Deloitte both globally and across our core service lines of audit, tax, corporate finance and consulting.”
He continued, “the most exciting part of being a business advisor in our region is the diversity of businesses ranging from huge overseas owned organisations, to fabulous privately owned businesses. I’m really proud to lead the 800 people we have across our Reading, Gatwick and Southampton offices to make sure we give this community the best business advice that they could possibly receive.”
Paul, an audit and advisory Partner, has been in the profession for 26 years, advising corporates, from start-ups and owner managed businesses through to multinational PLCs with a focus on the manufacturing and technology sectors. In addition to audit work Paul is experienced in providing advisory services including diligence, IPO and other capital markets work. He said “Deloitte thrives in the South East due to the value it brings to the dynamic business community and the number of multi-nationals relocating to the area. My time will be spent advising clients and ensuring that our teams bring the full breadth and power of Deloitte expertise to their own clients.”
He went on to say, “the business communities across the ‘Cambridge, Milton Keynes, St Albans arc’, span a range of sectors, and have very different characteristics, but each has the potential for significant growth over the next 5 years. I am really looking forward to leading the 400 people we have across our Cambridge and St Albans offices, and to ensuring we continue to support the success of the region.”
Both Paul and Daniel succeed Graham Pickett, who remains with Deloitte as a Vice Chairman of the UK firm, focusing primarily on clients in the travel and aviation sector. Graham said, “I’ll remain very much a part of Deloitte and had over leadership of our Reading, Gatwick and Southampton offices at a great time - our sense is that business confidence is good and that businesses across the South have some superb plans to do business both on a UK and global basis, so it’s a great time to be advising businesses in the South.”
